How listings are ranked

Last revised: October 12, 2026

Working draft. Written by the operator and awaiting review by a lawyer - please read it with that in mind.

This page explains what the Sichh catalogue uses to order job, course and service listings, what role a company's paid plan plays and what cannot be bought.

The ordering you choose

The catalogue offers three orderings: Recommended (the default), Newest and, for jobs, By pay. Filters you set - place, field and others - narrow the selection.

Under Newest and By pay only the publication date or the stated pay decides. A company's plan and promotion have no effect there; paid listings are only marked.

Recommended ordering

The recommended ordering combines these parameters, most important first:

A plan level applies within any selection: the more precisely you narrow the search by place and field, the fewer listings share the top positions.

  • The company's plan level: VIP, Premium, Pro, Standard and Start. A listing of a higher level always appears above a listing of a lower one.
  • Promotion: for 7 days it moves a listing one level up. Nothing moves a listing above VIP; a promoted VIP listing appears at the top of the VIP level.
  • Within one level, companies with a paid plan come before companies in their free trial month.
  • The company's rating: the average rating adjusted for the number of reviews, so a company with one review does not overtake a company with twenty equally good ones.
  • Freshness: a new listing has an advantage that gradually fades over the 30 days after publication.
  • How well the listing matches your search text, if you entered any.

What cannot be bought

Reviews cannot be bought. A plan changes neither a company's rating nor its weight, and a company cannot influence which reviews are shown.

The order is the same for everyone. We do not use data about your behaviour or about who is looking to set it.

How to recognise paid placement

  • A listing card shows the company's plan level: Standard, Pro, Premium or VIP. Premium and VIP listings also have a more prominent frame.
  • Promoted listings are marked Sponsored.
  • The VIP block on the home page shows only listings of companies on the VIP plan, at most one per company. Its order changes every day.
